yes, your indication is correct. i think people are more likely to adapt to their surroundings. like us when i was i still a child, the only way to communicate with adult relatives, was through Cantonese. now kids just choose to speak whatever they want, as we could understand both Chinese and English. i guess English just makes it a lot easier for them to express themselves, so they choose English over Chinese. kids over here don't really watch cartoons anymore, as they are always on their smartphones and pads. so it is difficult for them to learn their custom language. |
